Summary of Information

The Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program has been modernized to now include an online learning (LMS) and an eBook as well as a textbook and content has been updated to reflect current industry practices. The material uses plain language and visual elements for better understanding, and the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) will review the content annually to keep it current.

What’s New?

CAIB New Editon 1.0 includes several key changes and improvements:

• Updated Content: The content has been updated to reflect current industry practices and includes new sample forms and policy wording. The new edition also incorporates key concepts, scenarios, and case studies to connect technical information to real-world applications.
• Enhanced Learning Tools: The online learning platform features interactive elements like "click-to-reveal" content, digital notes, and a bookmarking function.
• Practice Quizzes: Practice quizzes are now available after each module to help reinforce learning.
• Exam Changes: The CAIB 4 exam now includes multiple-choice, definition, and short-answer questions to align with the other CAIB exams.
• CAIB 1 will now include an Autoplan Supplement.

Important Note: You can take your exam based on the textbook edition you studied, and you won't be required to retake any CAIB exams you have already passed.

• Four-Day Focus¹ (Online): An accelerated, four-day course from Thursday to Sunday. A hybrid (in-person/virtual) option is also coming soon.
• Weekend Warrior¹ (Online): An accelerated course held over two consecutive weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Seven-Week Evening¹ (Online): A flexible option with one evening class per week for seven weeks.
• Exam Prep Clinic (Online): A three-hour evening session to review key concepts with an instructor and ask questions.
