Job Description
InsureBC is seeking a detail – oriented and technically skilled Broker Management System (BMS) Implementation Manager to join our Head Office team. This role plays a central part in managing the successful transition of brokerages onto our newest BMS platform, ensuring a seamless and efficient conversion process across the InsureBC Group. You will be required to travel to other offices.
This pivotal role will work closely with our IT department and Insurance Operations teams to ensure the successful migration and implementation of new BMS platforms. The primary focus is to lead and execute complex BMS conversion projects, from data mapping, cleansing, and migration to rigorous testing, validation, and comprehensive post-implementation support.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring that each conversion aligns with business requirements, maintains impeccable data integrity, and adheres to regulatory and system performance standards. This role also plays a key part in identifying opportunities to streamline operations and enhance system functionality throughout the entire conversion lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Execution:
- Lead a small team on end-to-end BMS conversion projects, including planning, scope definition, resource allocation, timeline management, and budget oversight.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies for each BMS implementation.
- Facilitate and lead project meetings, ensuring clear communication and accountability among all stakeholders
- Data Management & Integrity:
- Oversee and execute comprehensive data mapping, data cleansing, and data migration activities from legacy systems to new BMS platforms.
- Develop and implement robust data validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of migrated data.
- Work closely with IT and Insurance Operations to identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues post-migration.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Vendor Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT, Insurance Operations, brokerage staff, and external BMS vendors.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical specifications for vendors and IT.
- Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including UAT, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Coordinate and manage UAT with business users, ensuring their active participation and feedback are incorporated.
- Ensure all new system functionalities meet business requirements and system performance standards.
- Training & Post-Implementation Support:
- Coordinate the development and delivery of training programs for end-users on the new BMS.
- Provide dedicated post-implementation support, troubleshooting issues, and facilitating their resolution.
- Monitor system performance and user adoption post-go-live, providing continuous improvement recommendations.
- Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline operational workflows and improve system functionality throughout the BMS conversion lifecycle.
- Champion best practices in BMS utilization and data management.
- Contribute to the development of standardized procedures and templates for future BMS implementations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing complex system implementation projects, with a strong preference for experience with Broker Management Systems (BMS) in the insurance industry.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end BMS conversion projects, including planning, execution, and post implementation support, with hands on experience in systems such as Applied Epic and Acturis
- Demonstrated experience in leading data migration, data cleansing, and data validation activities for large-scale system conversions.
- Experience working collaboratively with IT departments, operations teams, and external software vendors.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Project Management: Strong proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., PMP, Agile certifications a plus).
- Insurance Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance brokerage operations, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of system integrations, data structures, and ability to understand technical specifications and communicate effectively with IT professionals.
- Data Management: Expertise in data analysis, data quality, and migration strategies.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Leadership & Interpersonal: Strong leadership qualities, ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams, and build strong relationships.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implementation automation or improvements
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot system performance post-conversion to ensure long term stability
