Insurance Advisor (Abbotsford)

The Opportunity

As an Insurance Advisor you will deliver exceptional customer service and expert insurance advice to new and existing clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in both ICBC and Personal Llines. This role focuses on proactive client engagement, accurate policy administration, and business development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promote, sell, and service insurance products to meet client needs and business targets.
  • Manage, market, and service a book of business, ensuring timely renewals, endorsements, and cross-sales.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and phone calls in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Proactively engage with ICBC, insurers, and clients to process new business, renewals, and endorsements accurately and efficiently.
  • Obtain expiry dates and identify cross-selling and coverage enhancement opportunities.
  • Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to ensure appropriate coverages and prepare client documentation.
  • Issue policies, certificates of insurance, binders, and other required documents through company portals.
  • Maintain and update ICBC stock, client files, replacement cost evaluators, and administrative records.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail/courier and distribute company materials as needed.
  • Provide claims support and follow up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Attend team meetings, huddles, and actively participate in company initiatives
  • Maintain activities and abeyances within 7 days of due date and escalate overdue accounts payments past 30 days
  • Back-up support for colleagues and other departments as required.

About You

  • Level 2 insurance license required
  • Minimum 3 years of ICBC and Personal Lines experience
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, ICBC, and brokerage software (e.g., TAM).
  • Proficient with standard office software, portals, and communication tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational excellence.
  • Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Adaptability, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Team player with a positive, professional attitude.
