As a Commercial Lines Advisor, you will develop and manage a growing portfolio of commercial and farm insurance accounts, ensuring insureds receive comprehensive coverage tailored to their risks. This role undertakes a variety of business development activities to build the commercial and farm portfolio, including solving customer concerns to ensure retention of business and servicing customer accounts by identifying additional business opportunities.
What you’ll do:
- Manage all duties associated with the development, servicing, and retention of commercial and farm accounts.
- Proactively seek and develop new business to achieve sales targets and facilitate referrals.
- Assess customers’ current and future needs, provide expert insurance advice, prepare quotes, and sell commercial and farm insurance.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through personal networking, outbound calling, referrals, and community engagement.
- Provide expertise across a broad range of commercial and farm insurance products including property, general liability, commercial packages, D&O, E&O, and bonds.
- Meet customers within and outside the office to build relationships, identify coverage needs, and make basic risk management recommendations.
- Prepare accurate documentation for policy changes, renewals, cancellations, certificates, and other routine service requests.
- Respond to emergencies and assist customers with their claims while adhering to the appropriate follow-up procedures, ensuring accurate claims servicing.
- Provide guidance and expertise to other insurance team members as needed.
What you’ll bring:
- Level 2 General Insurance Agent’s License, held for a minimum of 3 years.
- CAIB, CPIB, CIP, ACIP, or FCIP designation or equivalent.
- 5 years of personal, farm, and commercial lines experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and farm insurance products, policy wording, exclusions, and risk-management practices.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the SASCU community.
- Market awareness, business development acumen, and excellent organizational skills.
