Job Description

We are looking for 1 full time Bookkeeper to join our team. As a bookkeeper, your primary focus will be contributing to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks utilizing your strong attention to detail. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.

Please note, this is not a remote position.

Experience:

  • QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
  • bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable for Insurance companies, includes processing invoices, reconciling AP statements before processing payments.
  • Accounts Receivable, including processing payments, producing statement of accounts, collections on overdue accounts and account reconciliation when required, processing AR refunds and waiving requests
  • Preparing commissions for eligible employee’s ad producers and reconciling their statements monthly
  • Banking includes processing bank deposits, resolving discrepancies and making associated finance entries
  • Company credit card reconciliations and communication for obtaining supporting documentation
  • Preparing T4A for commissions
  • Assisting Managers of different branches with setting up Id’s for new users in TBW
  • Merchant accounts reconciliation
  • Assisting with Monthly and Year End tasks
  • Assist with Special financial projects as required
  • Ad-hoc projects given by management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Detail oriented, ability to show initiative and take responsibility
  • Data entry skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Proven discretion with confidentiality
  • Thoroughness
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Enhanced verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • College diploma/certificate in accounting is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
