As an Insurance Marketing Manager, a typical day might include:
- Acting as liaison between BSAA staff and Account Executives when issues arise requiring attention
- Performing annual staff Performance Development Plan reviews, and makes recommendations when required
- Approves, monitors, and tracks staff expense, vacation, sick, and remote workdays for direct reports, providing quarterly summaries to the Director, Market Management
- Collaborates with the Director, Market Management to oversee the development of a workflow system to effectively and efficiently manage workload
- Reviews monthly reports to ensure accounts are renewed and acts as back-up manager to other BSAA managers
- Conducts process and needs assessments across Commercial Insurance, implementing initiatives for continuous improvement
- Executes regular meetings with staff
- Monitoring and auditing workflows
- Ensuring staff feel supported and heard by management
- Communicating, promoting, and aligning staff behavior with company values
- Communicating Axis’ goals and achievements to staff
- Collaborating with staff to monitor Objectives & Key Results
- Providing training and mentoring as required
- Immediately dealing with staff issues, working towards a resolution
- Effectively motivates and supervise employees, including team building. Developing and maintaining a high service level standard for the department
- Performing periodic file audits to ensure procedures are followed by all direct reports
- Assisting others as needed and performs other duties as assigned
- Providing marketing and policy rating service and technical support to the Marketing Management team
- Liaising with Account Executives to discuss client needs and make recommendations regarding terms and conditions obtained
- Provides ongoing servicing as required, negotiating mid-term changes with insurers and preparing submissions to insurers and proposals for clients
- Creating and following up on abeyances and documentation requests
- Acting as technical support to staff for policy coverage and company underwriting information needs, including policy wording review/comparison and review of contract & lease agreements
- Attending client meetings, as required

Must Haves:
- Minimum 7 years Commercial Marketing experience, consistently meeting internal core competencies
- Experience with Personal Lines, considered an asset
- General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or an equivalent license in the individual’s province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license
- CAIB, CIP, CRM, or other insurance designations, considered an asset
- Post-Secondary Degree, considered an asset
- Experience using Epic broker management system, considered an asset
