The successful candidate will work in Prince George.

Salary Range starts from CA $97,519.50 based on education and work experience, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives and staff benefits.

Position overview:

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales and Member Relations, the Senior Manager, Sales & Insurance Services, is responsible for meeting overall growth and profitability of the Insurance Team, in conjunction with the strategic and sales objectives of Integris. A major focus for this role is sales & business development. The successful incumbent ensures high-quality products and services for our members while investing in the development and success of the insurance team. This senior leadership role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration across departments to enhance member satisfaction and achieve organizational goals.

Key accountabilities:

Business Development:

  • Develops annual service and sales plans for the Insurance Division across Integris, establishing a strong service and sales culture.
  • Maintains and develops relationships with key insurance markets, including contractual negotiations, and initiates action to improve agency growth through industry and community relationships.
  • Develops the insurance portfolio through new marketing campaigns and supports referrals for retail banking, commercial banking, and financial planning.
  • Compiles and completes financial and statistical reports detailing agency performance and growth, providing input to Insurance Services Managers on service and sales expectations and standards.
  • Provides a proactive service and sales model for all insurance staff, helps resolve high-level member complaints, and achieves annual insurance service and sales goals as per strategic objectives.

Corporate Strategic Planning & Projects:

  • Develops annual strategic business plans and budgets for the Insurance Division, aiming for portfolio growth and profit objectives.
  • Provides recommendations to senior management to maintain a member-focused, service and sales organization, including insurance products and services.
  • Represents the insurance services division in annual corporate business planning, providing input on this specialty area.
  • Evaluates business conditions, maintains reporting lines to senior management, and supports special projects (e.g., product design, systems, member marketing).
  • Develops relationships with other Credit Unions for joint projects and collaborates with other departments to leverage their expertise.

Revenue Generation:

  • Sets clear income and revenue targets with insurance representatives and implements plans to achieve annual corporate goals, positively influencing financial results.
  • Develops and maintains profitable growth by controlling expenses and maximizing income opportunities through internal checks and balances.
  • Reviews and analyzes results, adjusting focus as needed to meet targets, and reports trends to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Develops a visible presence within the Credit Union business community to promote the Credit Union and the Insurance Division.
  • Proactively seeks ways for the Insurance Division to contribute to corporate results, including participating in interdepartmental projects and meetings.

Insurance Operations, Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with members and insurance partners, using CRM tools to track performance and streamline sales processes.
  • Directs the operation of all insurance offices, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards with the help of branch and insurance managers.
  • Formulates and implements operating policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policy and regulatory agencies.
  • Conducts regular audits and assessments, developing risk management strategies and recommending process improvements.
  • Participates in the recruitment of management staff, providing input on required skills and ensuring compliance with Integris policies and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Engages as the corporate expert in insurance, staying aware of trends and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products and services.
  • Takes leadership within the Insurance management team, reinforcing corporate direction and culture, and demonstrating support for corporate initiatives.
  • Builds a positive environment in the Insurance Division, encouraging employees to develop their potential and provide excellent service and sales to members.
  • Communicates organizational and division information to keep insurance staff well-informed.
  • Supports the VP, Sales and Member Relations by partnering with department and branch managers, providing guidance on insurance issues.

Performance Management:

  • Regularly visits Insurance Division branches to assess and motivate staff towards achieving goals and objectives.
  • Ensures the delivery of exceptional insurance services to members.
  • Provides input into the Performance Coaching process for management staff, focusing on technical expertise, underwriting, and service and sales efforts.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops the insurance services team as a role model.
  • Focuses on skill development of the insurance team, identifying training requirements and overseeing training with the help of branch managers.

Education and Experience:

  • CAIB, or CIP professional designation, and be qualified to obtain “nominee” license status.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with 3 to 5 years in a leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as insurance & finance software
  • Candidates must possess a relevant degree, insurance certifications, or a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
