Personal Lines Agent (Downtown Vancouver)

The Opportunity:

The ideal candidate will have previous Personal Lines experience and an insurance level 1 Insurance license. In this full-time role, you will be a key member of our office team, building rapport with clients, and providing exceptional service. This position has great earning potential with a base rate of pay (varies depending on experience) along with commissions! You will be based out of our downtown office in Vancouver, close to transit, shops, and restaurants. Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Servicing on-going client needs, advise on insurance matters, conduct needs assessment, recommend solutions, answer inquiries, conduct are calls and process renewals;
  • Sell new policies/writing new business to existing or new clients, retain existing book of business in an effort to grow book of business;
  • Contact Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy;
  • Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications for clients, issue insurance certificates, process changes and renew renewals;
  • Keep current on underwriting rules and workflow processes;
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum Level 1 BC Insurance License
  • Must have personal lines experience
  • Strong customer focus and administrative office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS office products and strong computer skills
  • PowerBroker or TAM experience considered an asset
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
