Job Board Terms & Conditions

Description of the Service
The Insurance Brokers Association of B.C. (IBABC) Job Board is an online service that is available for use by the public, where job seekers may advertise their availability and apply for jobs, and IBABC members may advertise job postings and search for and contact job seekers. IBABC maintains the authorization to approve or deny job seeker profiles and job posts by IBABC members or other authorized users. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited. Your use of the IBABC Job Board constitutes your agreement to observe and abide by these Terms and Conditions.

Registration and User’s Obligations
Both job seekers and IBABC members (collectively, “Users”) using the Job Board agree to (a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about themselves and (b) maintain and promptly update the user information to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. Job seekers will be asked to set up a profile as part of the Job Board registration process. IBABC members will already have a profile and must log in to post jobs and see job seekers. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their profile and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under said profile. Users agree to (a) notify IBABC immediately of any unauthorized use of their profile or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that their account is properly exited at the end of each session. IBABC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from a User’s use or misuse of the Job Board.

Privacy Policy
Users are deemed to consent to the public sharing of all information they provide on the Job Board. Users acknowledge that risk is involved with disclosing personal information online and accept that risk, including all risks related to the potential disclosure of their personal information posted to the Job Board.

Please be advised that Users and members of the public may browse the Job Board anonymously. IBABC considers the protection of User’s privacy to be an important part of this service. IBABC will not collect any additional personal information about Users or members of the public browsing the Job Board without their knowledge.

Intellectual Property
All trademarks, service marks, trade names, copyrights, logos, slogans, pictures and other identifying symbols and indicia of IBABC members or any other User are owned by the party and protected by intellectual property laws. All rights applicable to this intellectual property are reserved by their owners.

Monitoring by IBABC
IBABC reserves the right, but is under no obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with the Job Board. Content may be reviewed at regular intervals, and IBABC may investigate any complaints or reported violation of the Terms & Conditions and take any action that it deems appropriate, which may include, but is not limited to, issuing warnings, suspending or canceling Job Board accounts, denying access, or removing any information or postings from the Job Board.

Termination of Access
Users agree that IBABC may at any time and in its sole discretion:

terminate any User’s access to the Job Board and deactivate or delete any User’s account and all related information and files in their account
remove any content on the Job Board for any reason, including lack of use or in the event where IBABC believes that a user has violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our Terms & Conditions
discontinue providing the Job Board service, or any part thereof, without notice

Users agree that IBABC shall not be liable to Users or any third-party for any termination of any User’s access to the Job Board or the discontinuance of the Job Board or any part thereof.

Terms of Use and Liability
IBABC is not responsible for the use of the Job Board or the information disclosed by Users on the Job Board. Users agree to not hold IBABC liable for any damages to any User or third party in connection with the Job Board and all related services, including but not limited to:

the security of any data, including personal information, on the Job Board
the quality, safety or legality of the content of the Job Board
the truth or accuracy of any information provided by Users
the ability of Users (either IBABC members or Job seekers) to fulfill the obligations or services advertised
the use or the inability to use the Job Board by any User, including that the Job Board will be free of viruses, malware or other malicious code
the failure of the Job Board to accept or process a job posting or job seeker listing

Please use caution, professional courtesy and common sense when using the site.

Warranty
IBABC PROVIDES THE JOB BOARD “AS IS”, AND MAKES NO (AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL) REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE JOB BOARD AND THE SERVICES AVAILABLE THROUGH IT, WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES REGARDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, ALL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

Revisions to Terms & Conditions
Users acknowledge that IBABC may at any time modify these Terms & Conditions and any Job Board features, benefits or rules by posting the amended terms on www.ibabc.org. All amended terms shall be effective upon being posted on this site. It is each User’s obligation to stay abreast of any amendments to these Terms & Conditions.
