  • The content has been updated to reflect current industry practices and includes new sample forms and policy wording. The new edition incorporates key concepts, scenarios, and case studies to connect technical information to real-world applications.
  • Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) will review the content annually to keep it current.
  • The online learning platform features interactive elements like "click-to-reveal" content, digital notes, and a bookmarking function.
  • Practice quizzes are now available after each module to help reinforce learning.
  • The CAIB 4 exam now includes multiple-choice, definition, and short-answer questions to align with the other CAIB exams.
  • CAIB 1 will now include the ICBC Autoplan Supplement.

If you are new to the CAIB journey, you can go straight into CAIB New Edition 1.0 by registering here.

Which Edition Do I Study?

CAIB 1 and CAIB 4 New Edition study materials will fully replace the previous editions.

CAIB 2 and CAIB 3 must be taken using the same edition. If you have completed CAIB 2 using previous editions, you must continue with the previous edition of CAIB 3 (and vice versa) to ensure consistency in your learning path. Click here to view the CAIB 2 & 3 previous edition course schedule.

Important Note:

  • Your exam will be based on the textbook edition you studied.
  • You won't be required to retake any CAIB exams you have already achieved.
  • Previous edition exams will no longer be available starting Fall 2026.
